A lathe headstock coupling which provides angular adjustment, has a polygonal shaft flange (15) which is located by a coupling bush (10). the sides of the shaft (15) are curved in an axial direction so that angular movement is possible between the shaft and the coupling bush (10). The polygonal location hole (12) in the coupling bush (10) is provided with pressure pads (19) which have internal curvature that matches the shaft flange profile. Lubrication holes in the coupling shaft are provided so that oil or grease can reach the area between shaft flange and pressure pads.
