The device is for coupling a driven part to a drive, particularly for a drawing or winding machine and has a friction clutch which permits the torsion of the driven part against the drive against friction force. To prevent the further rotation of the driven part (1, 20) by reason of its inertia when the drive (3) stops, a free run or idling arrangement (1, 9, 5) is fitted between drive and driven parts. This allows the slow movement of the driven part (1, 20) relative to the drive (3, 5) but prevents the driven part (1, 20) running through its own inertia as opposed to the drive (3, 5). The driven part (20A) of the friction clutch (12, 14, 20A) is arranged between two counterposed surfaces (12, 14) of the drive (3).
