Sulphur-containing polyolefins are produced by reacting a polyolefin obtained by a Ziegler type catalyst, with sulphur monochloride. Specified polyolefins are those derived from ethylene and/or propylene. The reaction may be effected with or without a solvent such as chlorinated hydrocarbons. Subsequent treatment to recover the product may be effected with aliphatic alcohols, amines or acids, and/or with steam or an inert gas such as nitrogen. |
