1488336 Bulldozers CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 6 April 1976 [5 Sept 1975] 13859/76 Heading E1F In a bulldozer assembly-mounting vehicle having a radiator guard for protecting the engine coolant radiator of the vehicle the lift jack means of the assembly have portions connected to the assembly and mounting portions received in the sockets at the upper lateral corner portions of the guard. The guard may comprise a U-shaped assembly including side portions, an upper cross portion and corner portions secured to the opposite ends of the cross portion and to the upper ends of the side portions. The portions may be welded together. The corner portions 29 may be castings containing the sockets 28, which in the assembled guard open forwardly of the guard and have axes inclined upwardly out of the sockets at an acute angle to the horizontal. The mounting portions of each of the two jacks 20 of the lift jack means preferably comprises trunnions 30 on each of the jacks, the trunnions being rotatably mounted in bearings 31 in spaced arms 24, 25 of a yoke 21 having a stepped shank 27 rotatably mounted in bearings 43, 44 in the stepped socket bore 28 in which the shank 27 can be locked against axial movement in the bore by a captive detent 47.
