The invention relates to silicone compositions which are stable under anhydrous conditions, but cure to elastomeric solids at room temperature when exposed to moisture which conprises a diorganopolysiloxane containing condensible groups and a methyl-tert-butoxyacetoxysilicon cross-linking agent which is obtained from the reaction of tert-butoxyacetoxysilanes and methyltriacetoxysilane at a weight ratio of 3:7 to 1:9 at temperatures of at least 120 DEG C.
