Closure part for plastic container with tubular neck to be used for locating a stopper or a cap, includes a circular insert ring (12) with downwards projecting tubular inner and outer edge part (26, 28) which between them are forming a downwards open ring shaped slot (32). The top part of the tubular neck (15) is folded over and inserted in the ring shaped slot (32) and subsequently welded to the top surface of the ring shaped slot (32). The outer edge part (28) of the insert ring (12) is longer than the inner edge part (26). Preferably welding takes place between the insert ring (12) and the plastic container using high frequency energy.
