<p>This packing (1) is intended for column apparatuses used in particular in mass transfer processes. It has a circular cylindrical shell (2) having perforations in the form of isosceles triangles (3). The base sides of these triangles (3) are perpendicular to the cylinder axis, and the triangles (3) are alternately orientated in opposite directions. The perforations have a spacing of about 1/4 of the cylinder diameter from the edge of the shell (2) and are formed by the triangles (3) being cut along the sides and bent inwards along the base. In order to achieve a more uniform distribution of the liquid or the gas over the entire column cross-section and as a result to significantly reduce the resistances to flow, the apices of the triangles (5) are connected to one another by a connection piece (6) having at least one opening (7). <IMAGE></p> |
