The socket-type pipe union comprises a flexible bush in which the ends of the pipes, particularly of mineral material, fit, and sealing rings for the pipe ends. The rings (3) are joined to each other by a sleeve (4) forming with the bush (1) a durable elastic sandwich-type component. The bush can beof material flexible in one direction, such as ebonite or hard rubber, or of flexible rubber, adhering to the bush, typically by vulcanisation.
