The transverse axial tomography system has a movable support round each section to be observed for an X-ray source and detector. The latter receives the part of the fine beam from the source not absorved by the section and transforming it into an electrical signal proportional to the quantity of X-phtons not absorbed. The signal is amplified and used for time modulation of a light emitted from a source onto a photographic plate. A lens system between source and plate produces a two-dimensional image on the latter, the light intensity being spatially constant in one direction and variable to a pre-determined law in a second perpendicular to the first. The source, lens system or plate are mechanically moved in synchronism with the support, so that the first detection of the image is similar to that of the beam of the section observed.
|
