<p>Blocks placed one on top of another and used in the construction of a wall, particularly a load bearing wall are parallelepipedal. On one of the four longitudinal faces of each block is a transverse groove and on the opposite face, directly in line with the groove, is a rib whose dimensions are identical to those of the groove. When the blocks are placed one on top of another, the rib on one block locks into the groove of the next one, thus ensuring that the blocks are firmly fastened together. The rows of blocks are staggered so that in any particular row, the rib on one block will engage with both the block above/below as well as the adjacent block.</p> |
