<p>The hinged cupboard unit with counter springing may be installed in high positions where it is normally out of reach and swings down into a lower accessible position. The unit hangs freely on a horizontal axis between twin parallel pivoting arms, and may use a spring loaded leverage counter balancing system. The pivoting arms may be of an obtuse 'L' shape and be pin jointed by extremities to the cupboard and a support. All the pin-joints permit rotation about horizontal axes, and the cupboard describes a semi-circular path as it descends, itself pivoting about the free ends of the arms to maintain a level station. The counter balancing of each arm may include pivoting triangular plate, a tie bar and a coil spring.</p> |
