Control unit for musical synthesiser - providing two outputs representing leading edge and fundamental frequency of input signal

The control unit is used for a musical synthesiser (4). It receives an input signal from a musical instrument, and provides an output signal in response to the leading edge of the input signal and a second output signal with a frequency proportional to the fundamental frequency of the input signal. The control unit has means for detecting the leading edge of the input signal, means for obtaining the first output signal, the period of which is measured and stored. The stored period of the first output signal is used to obtain the second output signal.
