Seaming carpet sections together using flexible seaming tape - precoated with adhesive before application to the carpet

Carpet sections are joined together by first impregnating or partially saturating one side of a flexible seaming tape with liq. adhesive and allowing the tape to become inactive and non-tacky. The undersides of the edges of two carpet sections to be joined are coated with an adhesive which contains a solvent for the adhesive used on the tape and both these sections of carpet are urged onto a piece of the tape. The adhesive on the tape is remoistened by the solvent and a cohesive bond is formed. The method of seaming carpet sections together is easy to execute and produces a strong long lasting carpet seam. The tape may be impregnated beforehand and stored until required.
