<p>The tipper surface is linked to the tipping axis by two interlocking segments. An upper segment (4) linked to the surface pivots on a lower segment (1) linked to the chassis. The lower segment is coupled to the release catch (8) for the tipper flap (9) by a spring loaded arm (7). As the load surface is tipped about the axis the spring loaded arm pivots relative to the load surface to release the catch. It is secured when the tipper is dropped, with the flap closing under its own weight. The system can be used on both rear and side tippers, and on combined axis tippers. It relieves the driver from having to leave the driving position every time the load is tipped.</p> |
