<p>Electrode, comprises an elongate hollow metal tube which is filled with hard particulate filler material and of which each end prevents the filler material from falling out by friction. A dried coating formed from a suspension covers the exterior of one end of the tube, and fills the gaps between particles of filler material at both ends of the tube. Pref. the filler material is held fast at each end of the tube by reducing the cross-section of the tube. The electrode can be mfd. at lower cost and with lower energy consumption, eliminating the costly process of sealing by welding, and without affecting the quality of the electrode or compsn. of the final deposit.</p> |
