Woven textile article with a velvety appearance on its two surfaces comprises in the warp direction, at least partially, flocked threads which are joined by an invisible weft thread. The weft threads are pref. very fine, e.g., 15 denier monofilament, and colourless, and the weft strokes are very close together. Return of the weft at the edges may be effected by a very fine supplementary warp thread, preventing excessive embedding of the weft threads in the flocked warp threads. The article is identical on both surfaces, is easy to mfr., and can be woven on an ordinary loom without using special means for weaving velve, thus reducing the cost.
|
