<p>The torque converter based on Trilon design has an impeller driven by an engine. The output shaft carries turbine and guide wheels and is connected between the impeller and turbine. The guide wheel is connected by a free wheel coupling on the housing for rotating in one direction and the guide wheel blades have a high deflection angle. Between two adjacent blades (4) of usual width (B) of the guide wheel (3) at least one blade (5) or narrower width (b) is arranged in the inlet region. This blading improves the flow conditions in the guide wheel inlet. The increased number of blades does not result in excessive flow cross section contractions, by limiting the max. inclination angle of the narrow guide wheel blades.</p> |
