<p>The quenching chamber has a stack of spaced quenching sheets. Each sheet has a slot on the front edge, opposite the switching contact, the slit tapering inwards. At the inner bottom point of the slot (6) is inserted a ceramic rod (9) passing through the entire sheet stack. Pref. the ceramic rod is flat and penetrates into a parallel recess of the slot. Its outwards pointing side penetrates in an extension of the slot. The profile of the rod in this extension, which is in contact with the slot side edges, is W-shaped. The design provides sufficient energy reduction of the light arc, resulting in its quick quenching.</p> |
