<p>The road or other traffic track coating comprises a base of reaction plastics e.g. epoxide, tar epoxide, non-saturated polyester or methyl-methacrylate, as binder (2), and sand, gravel, shingle or similar fillers (1). It is designed to be resistant to weather effects and to retain regular gripping qualities under heavy traffic loading, even when partially worn, with no danger of aquaplaning. It incorporates an additive of hard brittle shaped bodies (3), contg. hollow spaces, with reduced mechanical loadability compared with the rest of the coating. Blown clay or shale may be used, or hollow glass balls of 0,5-5 mm diameter.</p> |
