Herring bone milking parlour - with automatic locking and release mechanism for the cows and feedstuff distribution, consists of bars and levers

The herring bone milking parlour incorporates an automatic holding device consisting of movable bars (3). The movement of one holding bar (3) opens the adjacent feeding pen (1) when the next feeding pen (1') is closed by the neck of the cow taking the feed-stuff. Each holding bar has a central locking and unlocking device. The central locking and unlocking device consists of a pivoting pipe to which is fixed a stop cam. Each bar (3) has a locking lever. Each pen has side grilles (2). The animal when entering the pen pushes with its neck against the bottomg part of the vertical side (3') of the lever (3), and causes the locking lever to catch behind the cam. The bushings pref. have an abutment piece for a pull cable or linkage.
