The articulated lorry has the trailer coupling on movable supports (4) which pivot about set arcs whose centre of curvature is at ground level, so that the trailer pivots about this low, transverse axis (12). This improves stability and ensures good traction at all times. The system provides a smoother ride for the articulated vehicle, and can be simple set up by a number of curved slots, with centres on the axis, and with the trailer coupled to the slots by sliding bolts. Alternately the coupling can be a set of linked, jointed levers with suitable springing.
