The combine harvester cutter mechanism possesses a shaft extending the whole width over an L-bar, and positioned on several bearing blocks connected with straps. The shaft forms the pivot point for the cutter bar in conjunction with a T-shaped bar to whoch are screwed cutter fingers. A stop-piece prevent the cutter bar from tipping forwards over the pivot point. A gap between the top edge of the angled bar and the flat side of the bar defines the travel path for the cutter bar. The gap is covered by a flexible cover joined to the bar and placed over the inlet plate. A switch lever is joined to the shaft and operates the automatic steering.
