The starter for the grass mower consists of an adaptor pref. in two parts. One part of the adaptor is a ratchet disc (1) with a threaded end (3) which is screwed (2) onto the rotary part of the grass mower accessible from outside. The ratchet disc (1) has abutment sides (4), and opposite-facing mounting sides (5). The adaptor also has a ring mount (6) on the underside of which are projecting stop dogs (7), which fit together with the abutment sides (4) of the ratchet disc (1). The ring mount (6) has an upward-protruding cylindrical pin (8) by which it can be fitted into the drill chuck of a handheld drill.
