<p>Wooden structural component comprises >=1 panel, pref. of chipboard, joined to >=1 edge strip and opt. further panels adjoining at right angle or in mitre relationships, by means of glued dovetail or mortise and tenon joints with the tenons extending along the edge strips in the plane of the panels, parallel to each other. The edge strips pref. consist of rods of streamed bench wood, or rods of thermo-setting plastic material pref. polyester which are prefabricated or cast onto the panels in a mould. The component has a joint which can be subjected to a relatively high load, between panel and strips or further panels even when using very thin panels.</p> |
