The function of the device is the elimination of oscillations in chimneys, transmitter masts or other excessively slender structures. An oscillation unit encompasses the structure like a ring and is suspended on it to swing, while being additionally supported on it by a number of telescopic attenuating elements. The attenuating elements (6) are fitted above the oscillation unit (4). They can be hinged firstly to the exterior of the structure (1), and secondly to the top of the oscillation unit. The top ends of paired elements may be hinged to the structure, close to each other, and the bottom ends fixed to the oscillation unit at an interval apart.
