<p>The flame detector has a shutter which is used to cut out illumination during testing of the photocell, and the body of the shutter, which can rotate, is supported on two sides by means of two trunnions which protrude from it in opposite directions. The trunnions can work in plain self-lubricating bearings which extend for virtually the entie length of the trunnions. The body can be cylindrical in shape. The apparatus is used particularly for monitoring the flame in boilers and furnaces, and is an improvement on the device described in 830141 in that supporting on both sides of the shutter gives improved reliability of operation.</p> |
