<p>1524486 Dyeing skins and pelts CHEMISCHE FABRIK PFERSEE GmbH 22 Jan 1976 [23 Jan 1975 13 May 1975] 02528/76 Heading D1B Natural skins and pelts are degreased, dyed and optionally regreased by treating in a two-phase system in which (a) the material is treated at 30‹ to 50‹C with a solution containing a water-insoluble solvent and an emulsifier, the weight to volume ratio of the material to be treated to the waterinsoluble solvent being from 1:3 to 1:30, (b) the material is treated at 30‹ to 80‹C with a solution which contains a water-insoluble solvent, emulsifier and a dyestuff which is dissolved or dispersed in water at pH 3 to 6 the ratio by weight of the material to the water being at least 1 : 0.2 and the weight to volume ratio of the material to the waterinsoluble solvent being 1:3 to 1:30 and (c) treating at 20 to 80‹C with a solution containing a water-insoluble solvent and water the main part of the emulsified water being removed by azeotropic evaporation the solvent then being separated. The first process step may contain water which is removed before the second process step, this water being derived from wet material. A regreasing agent may be present in the third stage of the process. The emulsifiers may be anionic or non-ionic and preferred water-insoluble solvents are tri- and tetra-chloroethylene. Acid, reactive and 2:1 metal complex dyes may be used.</p> |
