PURPOSE:To retard increase in internal resistance during charge-discharge and to obtain a battery having good discharge performance and long life by arranging electrode material layers on both sides of an electrolyte layer, and uniting them by heat-pressing, then gradually returning the pressure to normal pressure with heated. CONSTITUTION:An electrode material layer comprising an electrode material and a binder and an electrolyte layer comprising an electrolyte and the binder are manufactured, then the electrode layers are arranged on both sides of the electrolyte layer, and they are united by heat-pressing. With heating maintained, pressure is gradually returned to normal pressure to sufficiently hold the contact between the electrolyte and the electrodes. It is preferable that the temperature is set to around the softening point of the binder and the pressure to 300-2000kg/cm<2>. A copper chevrel compound as the electrode material, a copper ion conductor as the electrolyte, and a thermoplastic resin as the binder are preferable. The electrolyte layer is strongly bonded to the electrode layers, and increase in internal resistance during charge-discharge is retarded. A battery having good discharge performance and long life can be obtained. |
