<p>Agents for regulating the growth of plants contain >=1 aliphatic chloroacetamide deriv. of formula (I) (where R1 and R2 are H, alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl), e.g. chloroacetic acid di-n-propyl-amide, allylamide or di(2-ethylhexyl)amide. (I) interfere with the metabolism of plants and can be used as growth regulators. Effects which can be achieved include inhibition of vegetative growth e.g. grass, promotion of flower and fruit formation at the expense of vegetative growth; and promotion of vegetative growth.</p> |
