Automatic fruit packing machine using shallow trays - has two vertically separated conveyor belts for fruit and cellular trays

The machine consists of two conveyor belts disposed one above the other. The first belt (1) carries the fruit and the belt (2) carries the cellular fruit trays (11). Between the two conveyors is a slightly inclined neck piece (5), which can be vibrated transversally at a low amplitude and high frequency, and a length of finger pieces (7) pivoted about a transverse axis (8) so that they are free to follow the contours of the trays. A smooth roller (14) positioned above the neck prevents more than one layer of fruit being fed into the trays at any one time and an eccentric roller (16) vibrates the neck piece perpendicularly.
