In an amphibious tricycle, air from a pedal-driven rotary blower (43) is supplied by flexible tubes (45) to injectors (46) above and below a turbine (58) coupled to the driving wheel (25) to propel the tricycle. The injectors (46) are slidable across the turbine (58) to vary the velocity ratio between the pedals and the drive wheel (25). The position of the injectors (46) is controlled by cables (52) operated by a lever (56) moving over a scale. Two or four pairs of pedals (36) are coupled to the blower shaft (44). Energy may be stored when descending hills, for later use, by extension of a coil spring. The seats (35) are adjustably mounted on the chassis. The tricycle has retractable pontoons which also effect steering in the water; the flexible tubes (45) are used to blow air under water for propulsion.
|
