VHF oscillator with mechanical regulator - uses plunger which gives radial braking to avoid parasitic mechanical vibrations

The VHF oscillator has a mechanical frequency regulator. The regulator has a control axis (24) having a threaded part (26) and supporting a dielectric material plunger piston (21). The oscillator has a resonant cavity (11) and a semiconductor auto oscillator (15). This auto oscillator has two means of connections and is known as a 'diode'. The oscillator has means of sampling the high frequency signal resulting from the oscillations. The mechanical frequency regulator has a braking system. This braking system consists of a metallic sleeve (31) fitted with an interior sleeve (46) made from friction material. The braking system encloses a cylindrical part of the control axis of the tuning system.
