[Also in Divisions B3 and B4] An electrical connector 2 comprises a ferrule 3 which has two pairs of spaced apart ears 12, 14 (Fig. 5, not shown) and bent out projections 18 in the sidewalls 6. The ends of pairs of wires are .located in slots 16 in the ears 12, 14 and when the connector is crimped thereto, the projections 18 pierce the insulation on the wires. A film 8 of plastic insulating material is fixed to the ferrule. The connector is intended for joining insulated wires, e.g. a telephone cable in situ or other wires which are free hanging. |
