<p>The small camera is fitted with simplified zoom and distance controls which are combined into a single hand control (105) moved alongside the lens. The control is coupled to the lens by a simple rack and pinion drive. The control is operated by the thumb while the rest of the hand controls the focussing. The system allows zoom control for small still or cine cameras. The lens can be coupled to a support plate (107) which has a flange to retain the other components associated with the rack drive and distance controls.</p>
