<p>The partially wettable sheet metal contact is intended for an electromagnetic relay. It consists of a sheet (1) of material unwettable by the contact liquid with one or several apertures. Into the latter are mounted inserts (2), flush with the sheet surface, made of material (4) which can be wetted by the contact liquid. The inserts have preferably a round cross section. They may be of copper, nickel, platinum, or their alloys. Alternately the inserts may have a surface layer of platinum or its alloy. The inserts are formed by a punch from an insert sheet metal, laid over the contact sheet metal, with subsequent pressing into the contact sheet apertures.</p> |
