The hinge used for pivoted connection of two furniture components, has a closing and holding mechanism which pushes the hinge on rotating by the dead centre effect into the closed position and holds it there. There mechanism has an additional spring which is loaded by bending. The hinge is reliable in operation and the spring element does not detract from the appearance of the hinge. The spring (22) other end (26) is held on a pivoted connection on the other hinge component (18). The hinge lever system has two pivoted levers (14, 15) whose ends are pivoted on the two hinge parts to form a four bar linkage. The spring can be preferably a curved or bent spring made from wire.
