<p>The machine is used for renovating bituminous road surfaces, e.g. damaged by scoring. It comprises a tracked or wheeled chassis with surface heater, series of tearing teeth, distributor device and smoothing beam. The heater is mounted in front, with the furthest end supported by travelling wheels. Here the surface heating system (9, 13) is connected to the chassis (2, 3) so that it is steerable, and the travelling wheels (14) are made in steerable form. The heating system can be attached to the chassis by means of telescopic hinge joints. The road being repaired need be heated only at a width matching that subsequently attacked by the tearing teeth; this means accurate curve negotiation is facilitated, and the teeth are subjected to reduced transverse forces.</p> |
