The procedure is for the manufacture of pipe elbows. An extrusion press (1) has a connected extrusion die (5) with an extrusion channel (5a) corresponding to the elbow curvature. The channel contains a curved mandrel (4) corresponding to the internal diameter of the pipe elbow. The channel is curved in an additional section, so as to form part of a spiral. The coils of the ejected helical tube (10) are supported near the output perture (6), and are cut into segments. The extrusion channel has an associated channel (7) for a cooling medium. The mandrel is cooled internally. The supports for the helical tube consists of rollers (15).
