Fluorescent lamp ignition and supply circuit - has blocking oscillator whose pulse amplitude ignites and keeps lamp on under no:load condition

The ignition and supply circuit, for a fluorescent lamp is supplied with DC, and has a simple construction and quick ignition. The circuit contains a blocking oscillator (1-14) whose pulse amplitude is sufficient under no-load to ignite the lamp from cold and is also sufficient when under load to keep the lamp on. The no-load pulses have an initially high amplitude. The oscillator has a feedback transformer (3) with two feedback windings (4, 5) and an output winding (6) coupled to the lamp. One feedback winding supplies only AC feedback to the input of the two oscillating transistors.
