<p>Double glazing unit comprises between the two glass planes a vacuum insulating chamber in which small spacer columns are mounted in a close network for supporting the panes against the air press. which has an effect due to the vacuum between the two panes. Pref. transparent profiled columns are used with wider stand surfaces which opt. have slight resiliency. The columns may be adhered directly to the glass surfaces, or applied to a film which is then adhered to the glass pane. The columns may be made of glass or plastic. The double glazing unit is assembled in a press. The glass panes may have a concave inversely symmetrical profile, with a plastic pane adhered between them. Heat conduction occurs via the columns by a factor of 2-10 less than via the air.</p> |
