Load actuated brake for overhead conveyor - has eccentric cam to press on rail when load direction is reversed

The rail of an overhead conveyor is made of square section tube with a longtidinal slot in the undersurface. The support plate (4) is mounted between two rollers (7) which run on the inner surfaces of the lower flanges. The load is suspended from a beam attached by eye bolts to the plate (4) and to the support plate of a second pair of rollers. The conveyor normally moves to the right but if the load should act towards the left the plate (4) rotates in a clockwise direction. The curved edge of the plate (4) which is eccentric to the axis of the roller (7) is pressed against the upper flange of the rail and acts as a brake to stop the conveyor.
