<p>1487463 Steam traps KERAG KESSEL APPARATE-UND ANLAGENBAU 4 July 1975 [9 July 1974] 28370/75 Heading F4U [Also in Division F2] A vapour or steam trap comprises an inlet opening 6, a discharge opening 3, a valve seat 4 surrounding the discharge opening 3, a valve member in the form of a continuous membrane 7 covering the openings 3 and 6, a chamber 8 containing a liquid control medium vaporizable at the normal working temperature of the trap, and a check valve member in the form of an annular membrane 11 positioned in the trap on the side of the membrane 7 away from the chamber 8. A stop plate 10 is provided for the membrane 7. The membranes are clamped together at their outer peripheries by an 0-ring 12. The pliability of membrane 11, adjacent O- ring 12, is greater than that of membrane 7, while in the region of valve seat 4, the pliability of membrane 11 is less than that of membrane 7. Consequently, if a back pressure develops (dashed arrows), this pressure forces membrane 7 away from valve seat 4, but forces the annular membrane 11 over the inlet opening 6 (see dashed lines).</p> |
