<p>1487322 Combined reflectors and heat pipes HANOVIA LAMPS Ltd 11 Oct 1974 [11 Oct 1973] 47548/73 Headings F4W F4U and F4R [Also in Division G2] A reflector 1 for heat and/or light comprises an integral heat pipe 2 for dissipating heat from the reflector. The heat pipe 2 includes a portion 3 having the same curvature as the reflector 1, and extends along the length thereof. One or both ends of the heat pipe extend beyond the reflector and carry fins over which air is blown by one or more fans or blowers. A pair of such reflectors may be associated with a u.v. arc tube in an ink curing system, the reflectors being pivotally mounted for movement between a position in which they reflect light and heat on to an object to be cured and a position in which they cut off heat and light from the object. The speed of the or each fan or blower may be controlled in response to the temperature of the area around the arc tube.</p> |
