1502583 Two-stage moulding of tyres POLYAIR MASCHINENBAU GmbH 24 Sept 1976 [3 Oct 1975] 39687/76 Heading B5A In order to provide for the sequential casting or iniection moulding of the body and tread of a tyre, the mould is provided with two series of segments 8, 19 pivoted on bottom and top supports 3, 4 so that after the formation of the tyre body the segments 8 may be pivoted away by pistons 16 and replaced by the segments 19 actuated by pistons 16A. Each segment, e.g. 8, is mounted via a leaf spring on members 9 and is provided with a shoulder 21 which is engaged by a nose 20 on the support carrying the replacement segment, e.g. 19 to hold it in a mould closing position. The top and bottom supports 4, 3 can slide along columns 2, 1 to allow core insertion and tyre removal. |
