The granulated silo additive for maize silage contains urea and magnesium phosphate and calcium phosphate. In addition to returned material, the oxides, hydroxides and/or carbonates of magnesium and of calcium and urea are introduced in an intimate mixture into the granulation zone. The solids are kept in motion and sprayed with phosphoric acid. After the reaction to form the corresponding phosphates of magnesium and calcium, the granules formed are withdrawn from the granulation zone. The product obtained can be dried without complications and has a low hygroscopicity.
