1487269 Enzyme recovery BAXTER TRAVENOL LABORATORIES Inc 9 June 1975 [10 June 1974] 24571/75 Heading C3H A method of selectively and quantitatively recovering lipolytic enzyme from the fermentation growth of Mucon species comprises adsorbing the fermentation growth product with a diatomaceous earth or with clay at pH of from 4 to 6 and then eluting the lipolytic enzyme from the adsorbent by adjusting the pH to a range of from 9 to 11. The preferred Mucon species is Mucon miehei but others mentioned are persillus, lueinalis, rouxii, genevensis, lamprosporous and racemosus. The enzyme may be recovered directly from fermentation mash, filtrate or concentrate and examples illustrate typical recovery procedures.
