In a first main aspect azo dyestuffs of the formula <IMAGE> wherein A, B, X and Y are certain substituents, in a second main aspect azo dyestuffs of the formula <IMAGE> wherein B' represents certain substituents and in a third main aspect azo dyestuffs of the formula A1-N=N-B1-NH-CO-X1-Y-Z1-OC-HN-B1-N=N-A1 wherein A1, B1, X1, Z1 and Y are certain substituents as well as the use of said azo dyestuffs in photographic material are disclosed.
