Pile driving vibrator unit - has vibration source fixed to spring mounted girder separated by gap from frame

The vibrator unit is for use when driving piles into the ground, seabed etc. having a frame fixed to the pile etc. and accommodating two contrarotating eccentric wrights. The vibration source (4) is fixed to a grinder (6) spring-mounted on the frame (1). Between girder and frame is a gap (7) whose widht (E) is less than the vibration amplitude. Rubber blocks (10), or separate springs (11) can be used for the girder mountings, or it can be suspended between two sets of springs, means for pre-loading the latter being included. Compared with existing designs, the arrangement is more compact and gives a greater driving force.
