Novel 3-phenyl-7-(v-triazol-2-yl)-coumarins of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R represents hydrogen, unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkanyol, aroyl, aralkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl or v-epoxyalkyl, the rings A, B and C being optionally substituted with further non-chromophoric substituents, processes for their preparation as well as a process for optically brightening organic material on using said compounds are disclosed. |
