<p>The edges of various objects are protected esp. from wear or impact by the application of a metal section comprising at least one flat, thin part to be applied against the edge or to be inserted in the object and at least one massive part to protect the ridge or rim. These parts are electron beam welded together in a vacuum. The protector is used for protecting sports goods such as tennis racquets, and skis against wear. Complex sections can be made from a light metal alloy.</p> |
